It there any way to force Outlook to always reply in HTML format? There is no option in Outlook to change this default; Outlook will always reply and forward in the same format (Plain Text, Rich Text or HTML) of the original message. This is to keep the original message intact, maintain the preference or technical limitation of the original sender. For instance, several mail clients on mobile devices do not support HTML formatted messages and HTML formatted messages are also larger than the Plain Text equivalent.

The same happens if you forward an email and use the feature 'forward as attachment'. Unless yu switch to HTML, you dont see the forwarded message.

Not even if I set my outlook in the 'view and send all Emails in plain-text' mode. OWA works fine, but this is not a solution, it's a workaround:). Now, we have fixed this issue (Mac-Mails with attachments) with this KB article:. After that and restarting the Transport-Service on our EXC2007 Server all attachments are visible and accessable from the new incomming MAC-Emails. Special thanks to Rashid.:):Roy.

I found a bug in 2016 where if the e-mail is in Plain Text View, the attachments do not show as being attached. For example if someone decides to forward an e-mail that arrived in plain text view, the attachments do not show up as attached. HOWEVER that attachment is indeed there if sent. I found this, and Microsoft's answer was it's a feature???? I don't think Microsoft fully understands the issue. Because this is if anything a security issue, if a user doesn't understand what they're attaching.

I’m fairly certain you have missed a step. Both the body area and the signature areas are formatted separately so it sounds like your content body hasn’t been set properly.

Since the last patch, I have been having a problem with all my outook (2007 and 2010) users, where we cannot open/view/save PDF attachments send from Mac users using Mac Mail. In the outlook message pane, it correctly shows the paperclip icon to indicate there are attachments, but in the preview pane, or when you open the message in its own window, no attachments show up. If you try and select 'save attachments', the window opens, but no attachments are listed. Users ARE able to view/save attachments using OWA and Blackberries (via BES) - the problem is only with the Windows Outlook client.

However, unless your signature file is a rich text file – Universal Mailer cannot correct plain text signature files. Fixing Your Signature File Remember the size setting mentioned earlier of “small, medium, or large” for your signature?

Even your HTML message without images is going to be bigger and slower to download. Consider your audience when you are sending emails and how your choices will impact their service plan. One option is to send your first message with your enhanced signature, then after that switch to one that is bloat free. Do you realize that if an Entourage user has selected to have Spotlight index attachments, it will cache your sig image over and over and over. This fills up drives with redundant images. Be sure to read IMHO- Use Plain Text or HTML The debate over whether to use plain text or HTML is often a hot topic on the newsgroups. Explanations of how much easier it is for a user to view mail in his preferred font size with plain text and the fact that message sizes are smaller don't seem to matter.
